Remembering Pygmy Hippo Silas

We’re sad to share that our pygmy hippo Silas died Monday after his heart gave out following a short illness. Over the previous few days, Silas was lethargic and had a lack of appetite which his caregivers were treating with medicine. Sadly, he did not recover. Silas was beloved by Zoo guests, staff, and especially his team of caregivers, and will be missed by all.
