Celebrate fall festivities at Zoo Boo presented by King & Spalding at Houston Zoo! Enjoy fall fun throughout the Zoo with colorful pumpkins, seasonal décor, festive photo opportunities, animal-themed surprises, and special activities for the whole family.

- Step into fall and walk through our Pumpkin Lantern Tunnel between the lion and tiger habitats
- Spot our Peek-a-Boo Pumpkins across the Zoo

Zoo Boo Extended Hours
On select dates, we’re extending our hours to allow guests to experience the fun lights and spooky sparkle of Zoo Boo extended hours. Explore glowing pumpkins, illuminated displays, spooky sights, and special nighttime experiences throughout the Zoo.
Extended Hours Highlights:
- Spooky Forest (opens at 5:00 p.m.)
- Ghost Town at John P. McGovern Children’s Zoo
- Glowing Pumpkins
- Make s’mores by the fire
- And more!
This event is included with general admission and is FREE for members. Add-on bundles are available for certain themed nights. This event happens only on select dates – see dates below.

Meet some of the Zoo’s feathered and scaly friends during Meet the Keeper Chats with owls and snakes, follow the clues during a themed scavenger hunt and get hands-on with a special horticulture activity.

Step right up! Bring your fun and playful crew to our Carnival Night Challenge your crew with carnival games, then get crafty with a pumpkin DIY activity, and support our conservation efforts.
Come ready to play, create and have a gourd time.
H-Town, this one’s for you. Show off your Houston pride with a night packed with sports-themed fun. Challenge your crew to cornhole, Giant Connect Four and Giant Jenga, and more. Keep an eye out for mascot appearances and collect sports-themed animal trading cards along the way.
Come reppin’ your favorite team and ready to make some noise for H-Town.
Calling all heroes! Your mission: make your own superhero mask and take on a series of hero challenges and games.
You think you’re legendary superhero or just creating your very own powers? Suit up and get ready to save the night.
Once upon a Zoo Boo, a fairytale night came to life with pirates, princesses, dragons and plenty of storybook fun.
Make your Fairytale Night even more magical with the Zoo Boo Movie Night Package, featuring a movie screening ticket of How to Train Your Dragon plus a few special treats to take home.
Come dressed as your favorite princess, pirate, dragon or fairytale character and make your own happily ever after.
Every great story needs a little mischief! Bring your favorite character to life with themed animal enrichment, a costume contest and themed photo props.

Safari Night features themed animal enrichment, a costume contest and safari-inspired photo props. Dress like an explorer, ranger or your favorite wild adventurer and see where the night takes you.
