- Houston Zoo works with community education programs in Rwanda to replant bamboo and other native trees in communities around Virunga National Park, home to mountain gorillas.
- Houston Zoo is providing support for replanting trees in Colombia to save wildlife like howler monkeys, Blue-billed curassows, and cougars.
- Houston Zoo is providing support for local communities in Kenya to replant and restore habitat for wildlife like giraffes and African painted dogs.
